A lesson in love from President Nixon

When you think of "players" and "mack daddies,"
one of the last people you would think of is ol' President
Richard Milhous Nixon.

But one thing that Dick Nixon was known for was his determination.

A laser like focus on his goals and aspirations and a willingness
to "do what it takes" took Dick Nixon from being the son
of a grocer to being President.

Long before his political days, Nixon was a 25 year old lawyer
living back in his small town, and the future First Lady Pat was a
teacher there.

After meeting at a play, Nixon decided that Pat was the one for
him.

He put her into the aim of his powerful focus and went to work.

But Pat rejected him for quite some time.

She put Nixon right into the friend zone.

Nixon even bloodied himself learning how to skate, just so he could
show up and go skating with Pat and her friends.

He wanted to get some face time with Pat, and did what he needed to
get it.

Here's the one story that stuck with me.

It shows the genius behind Nixon's relentless pursuit of his
goal.

Nixon would drive his "friend" Pat to Los Angeles from
their small town, where she would go on dates with other men. Ha

Nixon would "just be friends," and give her a ride.

However, he would have a chance to talk to Pat during the ride, and
began bonding with her.

She learned about his sense of adventure.

His desire for greatness.

Then when World War II came, Nixon went off to Navy Officer school
in Rhode Island. When he came back to visit he was fit, tan, and
looked younger.

Pat was hooked.

(Of course, Naval officers are irresistible. Heh.)

The Nixons were married, and then he went to his assignments in the
Navy.

In a way, I adopted the Dick Nixon romance strategy.

Except I use it in business!

When a potential client calls, I tell them all about my lab
services and capabilities. They know that I can do a great deal of
testing for them as they explore.

Then, the day may come when my client may need to use a "big
boy" lab for getting a crush test done or conductivity
testing. The producer may require those results from a larger
"name brand" lab.

But hey, I'll drive you so that you can go on that date!

Because I know that the services I provide, like giving objective
advice on your sand and working with your budget, build an
important relationship.

If it turns out that you do have frac sand or drilling grade
barite, I can make a few calls and get started down the path of
marketing your product.
