MASH style testing

What a flick.
It's this rough and tumble, politically incorrect (at the time,
I'm sure), busy piece of film.
There are lots of characters in the cast.
The script is like life, with lots of talking over each other and
wise cracks.
There is no real plot, just a bunch of events happening to a
medical team during the Korean War.
I can see why this became a very successful tv show afterwards --
the formula works and is really fun to watch.
Some of the actors were just starting on their careers that
continue today -- Donald Sutherland, Tom Skerritt, Elliot Gould
(he's quickly becoming one of my favorite old school actors --
he's great), just to name a few.
There's this chemistry between the actors on MASH that feels
real, and you can tell from their free-wheeling "chatting it
up" version of dialogue that these guys and gals probably
became friends during the filming.
I really enjoyed the scenes of surgery sandwiched between scenes of
partying and passing the time.
These characters would be doing pranks on each other and drinking
contraband beer one minute, and then focusing on fixing a wounded
soldier the next.
Even though there might be a wise crack during surgery (usually a
surgeon hitting on a nurse!) these guys were ultra professional and
focused during the surgery.
I really liked those sudden changes of scenery and context.
Antics one minute...
... serious surgery the next.
The movie repeated that contrast throughout the whole couple hours
-- very entertaining.
Reminds me... of... well, myself! Ha
I enjoy a wisecrack or two to my colleagues and subscribers.
However, as for the testing itself, we know -- and follow -- the
procedures and make sure we are following good engineering
practices.
Frac sand -- barite -- even garnets. We provide our clients with
test results for a wide variety of minerals.
If we don't test it, we probably know someone that does.
And if our clients require some custom test procedures, we can create
those test procedures using good scientific and engineering
practices. Just did it, in fact.
MASH style.
